Buying directly from China at volume is rarely about finding a factory — it is about finding the right one, getting an honest price, and making sure what ships is what you ordered. A sourcing agent represents your interests in China: factory vetting, price negotiation, sample approval, on-site quality control, consolidation, and freight.

How we vet a factory before your order
Most sourcing problems are baked in at the moment the supplier is chosen. So before you pay a single dollar, the factory passes four filters.

Licence & export history
We verify the business licence, founders, litigation history and the real track record of export shipments. This filters out "factories" that turn out to be trading companies with a markup.

Production audit
We visit the plant: workshops, equipment, raw-material warehouse, volumes and workload. We confirm the factory actually makes your category rather than reselling a neighbour's.

Samples before money
Samples, materials and tolerances are approved before the order is placed. Everything is fixed in the contract specification — the batch is later accepted against it.

Common mistakes when buying from China
These are the four mistakes we see most often in clients who come to us "after the fact". Each one is solved by process, not luck.
Choosing a supplier by chat price
The lowest price in a chat almost always means substituted materials, a "discounted" batch, or a deposit with no factory behind it. The real factory price is learned at the plant, not in a messenger.
Paying 100% upfront
Full prepayment removes your last lever of influence. The right scheme is staged payment tied to results: a deposit to start production, the balance after the pre-shipment inspection.
Skipping the sample stage
"It looks great in the photo" is the main source of defects. A sample with signed-off tolerances is a document you can hold the factory to; without it there is nothing to argue about.
Saving on the inspection
An inspection costs a fraction of a percent of the batch and catches problems worth tens of percent: wrong material, wrong dimensions, sloppy assembly. Checking in China is cheaper than unloading defects at your warehouse.

What does a China sourcing agent do?
A China sourcing agent finds the right factories for your product, negotiates factory-direct prices, manages samples and quality control on the ground, and arranges freight and customs clearance. Instead of dealing with dozens of suppliers in a language and time zone you do not control, you work with one partner who represents your interests in China.
How much does a sourcing agent in China cost?
Dream View works on a flat 10% commission of the order value. That replaces the hidden 30–50% markup that resellers and trading companies add on top of the real factory price, so in most cases using an agent is cheaper than buying through an intermediary — and far safer than buying blind.
Is there a minimum order to use Dream View?
We focus on serious B2B volumes — typically from 100,000 USD per year across orders. This lets us negotiate genuine factory-direct pricing and justify on-site quality control. We work with traders, developers, hospitality projects, designers and retailers.
How do you guarantee product quality?
We run physical inspections to AQL standards during production and before shipment, with photo and video reports. Samples are approved before mass production. Because we are on the ground in China, defects, wrong materials or finish issues are caught before goods leave the factory — not after they reach your warehouse.
Can you ship from China to Thailand, the UAE or Europe?
Yes. We consolidate goods from multiple factories, handle export clearance and insurance, and deliver door-to-door by sea (typically 30–45 days) to Thailand, the UAE, Indonesia, Europe, Kazakhstan and the CIS. Landed cost — goods plus freight plus duties — is fixed before shipment.
What can you source from China?
Furniture and soft furniture, kitchens and cabinetry, sanitaryware, tiles, porcelain and stone, lighting and décor, textiles and curtains, HORECA equipment and fit-out materials. If it is made in a Chinese factory and you are buying at volume, we can source it.
How long does a turnkey purchase take?
Roughly 2–4 months from brief to door: 1–3 weeks for factory shortlisting and samples, 30–60 days for production, 30–45 days for sea freight with customs clearance. In-stock goods travel faster, with no production cycle. Timelines for every batch are fixed in the contract, and we plan around the Chinese New Year peak in advance.
How does payment work?
Payment is staged and tied to results: a deposit to start production, the balance after the final pre-shipment inspection. We work with settlement methods convenient to you, including paying the factory directly in RMB — you see exactly what the manufacturer receives, which makes our fee all the more transparent.
